I thought you'd like to know that you are related by marriage to William Cameron Menzies, the production designer for GWTW among many other projects:

Menzies was Chris' stepfather's grandfather. Because none of Menzies' grandchildren have children of their own, Chris is the only heir in his generation to Menzies' estate. Which make Scotty and Eliza the youngest heirs. So yeah, basically my kids are Hollywood royalty. :)

Wow this is very cool news. I saw a film he actually directed in college called Things to Come AKA the Shape of Things To Come, I believe it was based on a story by HG Wells, but could be totally remembering that part wrong. It's a very interesting and visually creative film, haven't seen it in over a decade, I think I'll try and track it down to rewatch!!
Rob, I just watched La Vie en Rose. What did you think of it? Marion Cotillard was fantastic! And of course the music was too. I found the film hard to follow in places, jumping back and forth, but many of the scenes were very powerful. The contrast between the dark portrayal of her life and the soaring music mirrored who Piaf was. I've loved her since I was a child and still listen to her. I also saw some clips of her performing, although I can't remember where or when. I think this is a movie I'll have to watch more than once to see what I missed the first time round.

La Vie en Rose Is a film I had to make myself finish, Gracie actually watched a good deal of it with me, she liked the scenes of her as a little girl, as did I. I belief that Marion Cotillard gave a great performance, but for me it was hard to root at the Oscars for a character that I couldn't stand. Now I had never heard of Piaf, and had no knowledge of her musical achievements for me it was film about someone who was her own worst enemy and I couldn't understand why anyone she knew hung around her for more than a couple of days, let alone became so devoted to her. I really didn't think this film would ever end and could not bear to watch it again. I think it really came down to Piaf being such an unappealing character that I wanted her to stay down when she collapsed on stage.
